2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, hashed password, organization.
- Billing data: credit purchases, invoices, payment method metadata (we never store full card numbers).
- Usage data: requests to research services, credit ledger entries, timestamps.
- Content you upload: papers, notes and prompts you submit for analysis.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, log data required to operate the service.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Tek Def platform.
- To process credit purchases and issue invoices.
- To secure the service, prevent fraud and enforce our Acceptable Use Policy.
- To communicate service updates, security notices and support responses.
- To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying metrics.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use customer content to train third-party AI models.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
We rely on contract performance (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), legal obligations (accounting, tax), and consent where required (optional cookies, marketing).
5. Data retention
Account and billing records are retained while your account is active and for the period required by tax and accounting law. Research content is retained until you delete it or your account is closed.
6. Sharing and subprocessors
We share data only with subprocessors necessary to run the service — hosting, database, payments, email, error monitoring and AI inference providers — under written data-processing agreements.
7. International transfers
Where data is transferred outside your region we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
8. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding your personal data by writing to [email protected]. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored records, hardened cloud infrastructure, and strict access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we continuously monitor and improve.
10. Children
Tek Def is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We will post updates to this page and, where required, notify you by email. Continued use of Tek Def after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
